Because leadership does not happen in a vacuum.
It happens in our bodies, our homes, our relationships, our organizations, our communities, our faith, and sometimes in the uncomfortable space between who we have been and who we are becoming.
That is what I write about here.
Where Leadership Meets Life is where I explore leadership, identity, culture, cross-cultural living, capacity, influence, faith, and the lifelong work of becoming. Some essays grow out of decades of leading across cultures. Others come from coaching conversations, books I am reading, questions I cannot shake, or moments in ordinary life that turn out to have something important to teach me.
I am interested in what happens beneath the obvious.
Why capable leaders keep over-functioning. Why leadership development can fail to change culture. What we carry when we are the first, the only, or the one expected to make everyone else comfortable. What it means to lead with authority without losing yourself in the process. And what happens when we finally stop confusing exhaustion with faithfulness.

This isn’t meant to be a one-way publication.
I want to hear what these stories stir up in you. Tell me where you agree, where you wrestle, what you’ve experienced differently, or what question the piece opened up for you.
The comments are part of the conversation.
And if something here gives language to an experience you have been trying to name, send it to someone who needs it too.
Leadership is personal. Becoming is communal.
I’m glad you’re here.
